When I first started this blogging endeavor, the ultimate reason was and still is because Jesus was calling me to it. I have always loved to write, share the love and truth of Jesus, and encourage women of God to keep pursuing Him with EVERYTHING within them…..pressing forward to the mark of the high calling in HIM….but I will not lie …..another reason was in an effort to try to help bring in some income for our family. We do live on a tight budget, and my husband works so hard at making a living for us, but as you all know the cost of living is ridiculous even in our small area. The good thing is that ,no matter what, we do serve a God of MORE then enough who provides for our every need (Philippians 4:19) even in ways that sometimes seem unconventional to us or others. We serve Jehovah Jireh, Jesus, who is indeed our provider!!! He takes care of us. Sometimes our prayers are answered differently then we expect, but He always comes through!! That is His nature- He is UNFAILING!!!
My husband got a notice from an individual TODAY (after we’ve been praying for financial provision/breakthrough this week) that he helped at his work place in the past who was in need of His computer services. She had already moved on to another job 2 hours out, but she still remembered the good work that He did and was impressed enough to call back again. Praise God!! ….
Anyways, honestly I have not made any money from the blog which has been somewhat discouraging…I felt like I was not a success because of it….Isn’t it funny that we relate money to success when we should be thinking more on the Kingdom perspective of things? I mean as a stay at home mom I have tried EVERYTHING to help bring in income but…It seems that when your out of the secular work loop for a long time, noone even looks your way so it is disheartening, and right now my ultimate priority is to take care of my son Luke during the day until He gets into preschool. God visited me in the midst of my discouragement and gently spoke to my heart that the way I define success is nothing compared or even close to HIS definition of success!!! Often times, we as human look at success the way that the world does, when God is saying to go a little deeper. This is His definition of true success!!!
Matthew 6:19-20 King James Version (KJV)
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
This is Kingdom Success!!!!
Here are ways that Describe a Successful Mom and Wife….
1. Are we raising our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord?? (Ephesians 6:4)
2. Are we as wives and moms serving our families in humility and love as unto the Lord and submitting to our
husbands as the word of GOD tells us to? (striving to be Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 women)(Colossions 3:23)
(Ephesians 5:22-23) …. Let me be the first to say that I don’t always get this one right and have
to repent and ask God to teach me more on this!!
3. Are we being led by the sweet Holy Spirit and operating in Obedience to the word of God as well as to what His
still small voice is telling us to do? (John 14:26, Romans 8:14, Galatians 5:16, John 16:13, Isaiah
30:21, 2 Corinthians 10:5, John 15:14)
4. Are we a good steward at prioritizing our time and only saying YES to those things that God says we need to say
YES to? (Ladies saying YES to every event/ministry might seem to be a good thing, but is it a God thing for you
specifically? God does not desire that we take on so much that we are overwhelmed. We will not be as effective
as if we would be if we prayed on the things that we said YES to!!! (Matthew 6:33)
5. Are we good stewards of our household income? …I love to and do my very best to coupon for our needs such
as home goods, groceries, and more but this is yet another one that God is teaching me to do better on.
6. Are we living lives of contentment? (1 Timothy 6:6-8)
7. Are we Kingdom Living realizing that there is a much bigger picture to see when we ask God to let us in on His
perspective, hear His heartbeat, and see what His heart yearns for? 2 Peter 3:9
8. Are we women who travail/war in prayer for our family, friends, and beyond? (Ephesians 6:18,
Philippians 4:6, Matthew 6:9-13, Romans 8:26-27)
9. Are we women who seek out Godly wisdom and counsel? Are we women of the WORD (BIBLE)? (James 1:5,
10. Do we know who we are in Christ, know, and stand on His promises? (1 Peter 2:9, 2 Corinthians 1: 20, 2
So the encouragement is that we can be successful both in and outside of the home, but as Christian women our greatest success and ministry is inside of the home where our husband and children are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with making money as that is how we live in this Earth, but we ultimately Trust Jesus as He owns it all and is a faithful Way Maker. I still have a high hope that as I continue to blog, God will indeed bring provision through this area to. It does take time to build up a blog ….that is for sure. We don’t necessarily always make money in the home, but we are building up Kingdom Treasure in Heaven as we cherish our family, submit to our husband, and teach our children all about Jesus and that is worth so much more then any money could ever suffice!!!
Dear Heavenly Father,
The truth is that none of us always get this right, but we ask that You would teach us in an even greater measure what it is to be successful in Your eyes!! May we have a big heart that beats for You and Your ways. May we love our family as You teach us, lead, and guide us into all truth!!! Bless our efforts and help us to strive to live according to Your will and word! In Jesus name we pray, Amen!!
