When You Feel Like You Don’t Fit In

So I have a very odd personality if I do say so myself. I speak and sing at church with a boldness that the sweet Holy Spirit has given me over time, and I am so thankful for it. Growing up, I hated giving speeches and singing in front of an audience was a sight as I shook in my shoes, but God truly has grown me alot in this. When it comes to other unfamiliar settings….I feel so very uncomfortable. It’s literally like I freeze. The introvert comes out in me for some reason. Its really hard to explain really, but as I was praying about this feeling of not fitting in, God spoke to my heart that “You were created to stand out”….perhaps, not stand out like a sore thumb, but definitely stand out!!! I will admit I know that without Jesus I am nothing, but He is great on the inside of me and if you know Jesus personally then same goes for you!!!

God’s word tells us in 1st Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:”

As Jesus followers we are meant to be unique and called out to stand out for His glory alone!!! My hearts prayer is to be a light for Him and shew forth His praises as He is such a great and faithful God. There is no other Higher then Him. So I guess that I need to start praying for the same boldness that I have at church when my feet walk unto the unfamiliar and unknown places of life. God is still working on me, and getting me out of my comfort zone!! He never called us to be comfortable, but to GO and carry the message to all who will hear it that He saves, forgives, and heals. Let’s step out and embrace the fact that we are different then the world because we are citizens of Heaven, and reach out in love to those around us. (Philippians 3:20) We were never meant to fit in but stand out for His glory!!
